Automated Category Analytics and Insights

We are looking for a category analytics and insights solution to help procurement teams collect external market drivers and price forecasts, and generate insights in combination with internal spend and demand data sources.

Challenge Details

Roche Global Procurement is looking for a cutting-edge category analytics and insight solution to provide the procurement team with demand forecasts and price forecasts, based on both internal and external data sources. This should enhance operational efficiency (especially in highly fragmented categories) and provide the team with actionable insights that enable Roche to enhance their purchasing strategies and allow for dynamic category management – with the aim of achieving improved risk mitigation, smarter negotiations, and transparent and optimized demand management.

Selection Criteria

  • Software/tool/system: Roche is looking for a (ideally cloud based and automated) software/ a tool/ a system that has a great UI/UX, configurable and offers a high degree of automation.
  • Market price forecasting: is your solution able to forecast future prices and follow key market trends? Examples of price related forecasts could be forecasting of potential raw-material price movements and shortage, new market entrants, alternatives and other key commercial trends.
  • Demand forecasting: is your solution able to forecast future user demand based on historical data analysis? This should cover both quantitative inputs as well as allow customizable qualitative inputs.
  • Combination of market price forecasting & demand forecasting: is your solution able to integrate the insights from price and demand forecasts and generate actionable narrative insights for dynamic category management.
  • Systems/solution Integration: is your solution able to integrate with ERP systems of large multinationals and a (digital) business data warehouse containing ~500k line items and is your solution able to easily integrate with other solutions and platforms?

Background

As part of Roche Global Procurement’s ambition to build the next generation procurement organization, they are in the midst of a transformation journey with an agenda focused on building a future operating model that combines new agile ways of working and true business partnering.

Through this initiative, they want to take their cooperation with tech companies to the next level. This will be accomplished through a structured platform for cooperation and collaboration between the Roche Global Procurement team and technology providers.

Practical Details

The challenge owners will select the top applicants, who will be invited for a virtual selection day. The top applicants will get the chance to share their solution with key Roche stakeholders. Afterwards, the top candidate(s) for the challenge may be invited to participate in a pilot to test their solution in the field.
