Central to Roche’s ambition to build a next-generation procurement function is a transformation journey centered around a future operating model that combines agile ways of working and genuine business partnering, underpinned by digital solutions that enhance the user experience.
The importance of tapping into external digital innovation ecosystems became evident to Roche early in its transformation journey, and in July 2020, Roche became DPW’s first LABS partner.
The partnership with DPW LABS has not only enabled Roche to access a global network of startups and experts, but also allows the organisation to work alongside and learn from the DPW ecosystem
and bring innovative capabilities to Roche Procurement.

CHALLENGE
In the digital era, market intelligence is more central to success than ever before. Relevant and accurate insights are the basis for data-driven, evidence-based, and informed decision-making.
Roche was looking for a market intelligence solution to provide real-time market, category and supplier knowledge, insights, and intelligence across the supply base. Elevating the impact of procurement and enabling more thoughtful decision-making.


SCOUT
In just three weeks, over 30 potential partners responded to Roche’s market intelligence challenge. One of the applicants was Craft. Roche met Craft at LABS’s Demo and Selection Day, leading to a POC in the following months. After a successful pilot, Roche selected Craft to roll out their intelligence solution to 500 people across Roche’s global procurement team.
SUCCESS
Craft has enabled Roche’s procurement team to become a more proactive business partner by empowering procurement and the business to understand their suppliers better, capitalising on new market trends, analysing the impact, and proactively responding to risks – all AI-integrated and data-driven.
Ultimately, by strengthening the intelligence that underpins supply decision-making, procurement can deliver faster and better outcomes for the business.
